Detail of the violin.
I buy the maple wood in ex Yugoslavia.
The wood is cut and seasoned directly in my shop.
The search of maple is very difficulty in my shop.
The search of maple is very difficult. It can be compared to
the search of marble for sculptor.
I personally follow the seasoning of timber to check thenatural
aging (at least 10 years).
We must notice the colours of the warnish which natural resins.
These are mixed with order natural colours and dissolved in
al chool and linseed - oil.
Paint gives light to the vein and to the marbhing maintaining
their natural transparency.
I give more than sixty coats of paint with a particular brush.
I begin from a yellow tonality and after a very show work and
many polishings I obtein the right color.
A good paint is important not only from a prospective and aesthetic,
but also for the quality of sound.
Bridge of cello.
It is used according to the warping of
the instrument.
The bridge function is to trasmit vibrations the cord to the
box chest of the instrument.
For this reasons it's very important the balance between the
element of supporting, ingraned to the stength, and the element
of vibration ingraned to the higthness.
The bridge works to inflect hightness, elasticity and stength.
We can see the violin maker's ability in the elegance of the
empty spaces in the cleaning of boundanies and in the apparent
bittleness of the same bridge.
The choice of wood and its seasoning are really important.
